Almost all of us have that one friend who is unpredictable and not in a fun way. Over the course of a day, they are seamlessly (and unapologetically) able to go from happy to sad to irritated without any real catalyst or reason.
When they are in a good mood, they are so awesome that we choose to tolerate when they aren’t. But if we were honest with ourselves—and them—we’d have to admit that the cycle is pretty draining as we secretly wonder how they are able to keep a job, a relationship or anything else due to their bad attitude.
Now here’s the thing. Have you ever stopped to wonder if your friends are saying that about you?
There’s nothing wrong with having feelings and expressing them. You wouldn’t be human if you didn’t. But maturity and wisdom teach you that you have the ability to control your moods so that they don’t end up controlling you.
If you don’t, your moods (aka that bad attitude you're sometimes sporting) could keep you stagnant—in ways, you could never imagine.
