Kim Cattrall SLAMS Sarah Jessica Parker For Reaching Out Over Brother's Death: 'You Are Not My Friend'

If you're holding out for a Sex and the City 3 film, with all four original gals, abandon all hope now. It's dead and it ain't ever coming back. The prior statement from Kim Cattrall to Piers Morgan put the nail in the coffin, but her most recent Instagram post just hammered it down deep.

"You are not my friend," Cattrall says in the post directed at Parker. Harsh? Maybe. But, remember, Cattrall is mourning the death of her 55-year-old brother, Chris, who was found dead in his home in Canada a week ago. The accompanying image is just as harsh.

Parker told Extra that "we all send her our love and condolences," and casually led fans to believe there was still hope for a new SATC movie. She then told Entertainment Tonight that "If somebody in your life, whether you’re in touch with them or not, is suffering for any reason, it’s involuntary that you want to convey condolences or sadness or just let someone know you’re thinking about them."

Cattrall was not about it, though. She straight up rejected her condolences and support and, instead, let Parker know how she really feels about her, saying, "You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I'm writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your 'nice girl' persona." OUCH.

The drama dates back, according to Kim Cattrall, to their days on SATC. While on screen Cattrall and Parker —  along with Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon — portrayed BFFs, their relationship off camera was not quite as close. According to a book proposal by Clifford Streit from 2008, there was tension on set because Cattrall stole the scene with her humor, which made Parker jealous. The gang allegedly isolated Cattrall, to the point where nobody would talk to her, even in the makeup room. There were constant battles of power, status, and image — with Parker earning nearly three times as much as Cattrall and the others. Some sources said there was tension on set as far back as day one of filming, WAY back in 1998. That means this feud is now 20-years-old.

So, it makes sense why Cattrall wouldn't want to do another movie and put herself and everyone else through that, especially at this time in her life. But why she felt the need to publicly scorn Parker is unknown. And whether or not Parker is innocent in the whole situation is debatable. All we can hope is that both women put the past away and move on to be the best versions of themselves, with no drama or jealousy. And maybe one day they'll even support one another again (fingers crossed!), because there's nothing we love more than women supporting other women.
